Terex: Get to Know the Brand

Since the early 1920s, Terex Corporation has been building and expanding its manufacturing capabilities one business at a time. While the global manufacturer is currently renowned for producing loaders and construction equipment for various purposes—such as energy, material handling, heavy-duty machinery, and aerial work utilities—this was not always the case. In truth, Terex only grew by the keen eye for growth and acquisition established by Chairman Randolph W. Lenz in the 1980s.

New Holland: Get to Know the Brand 

Founded in 1895 in New Holland, Pennsylvania, the New Holland Machine Company has long manufactured engine parts and machinery from agriculture to construction. Raised from humble beginnings in a Mennonite family, handyman Abram Zimmerman initially used his talents to repair and craft farming parts out of his father’s blacksmith shop. From there, he used his intellect and creativity to sell more advanced equipment to farmers, such as the German Otto 4-cycle and Columbus engines. While this brought in significant profits to the shop, Abram wasn’t satisfied with just selling engines; rather, by honing his skills, Zimmerman looked to manufacture his own engine.

Bobcat Company: A Brief History

While the Bobcat Company is well known for their skid steers, and they have the right to claim that they produced the first-ever skid steer, they produce more than skid steers. What started with the Melroe family and the invention of the windrow pickup in 1929 turned into an internationally known business. They currently offer various kinds of loaders, excavators, utility vehicles, and telehandlers. Through acquisitions and innovations, the Bobcat brand has survived for nearly 60 years.

Not many companies can claim to be as innovative as Case Equipment. Currently split into agricultural and construction divisions under the CNH Industrial Company, their roots can be traced back to Racine, WI in 1842. That is the year Jerome Increase Case founded Racine Threshing Machine Works and improved the existing threshing machines to get 10 times more wheat from the grains.
