IHI Shibaura Machinery Corporation or Shibaura is a Japanese agricultural machinery manufacturer owned by IHI Corporation founded in 1942 and has been one of Japan’s leading suppliers of small tractors and diesel engines since 1951. After Shibaura agreed to make a small tractor for Ford—the Ford 1000 to Ford’s specifications—the company continued making Ford model tractors like the New Holland along with Yanmar and STIHL equipment. Shibaura also has a joint venture with another popular loader engine company, Perkins.
