At Loader Parts Source, we employ an amazing team of experts who provide customers with all their loader service needs. It is their dedication, loyalty, and attention to detail that make Loader Parts Source the successful company it is today. One such team member who keeps our services running is Claudia Shumaker, who we sat down with to discuss her role, hobbies, and experiences since joining our team.

What is your role at Loader Parts Source, and what is a typical workday like?

I currently work in the Finance Department handling the accounts payable at Loader Parts Source. I enter all invoices (making sure all quantities and pricing are correct), and post payments made via credit card. I am also responsible for generating customer refunds, which I find to be the most challenging part of my job. Many times, generating refunds involves a bit of digging to determine what created the need for a refund and if it was done correctly. If a mistake has been made, I am the last line of defense to determine whether the refund is too large or not enough. I truly enjoy working with numbers, and my accounting position at Loader Parts Source gives me the ability to do that.

What do you enjoy most about working for LPS?

I enjoy working at Loader Parts Source because there’s a bit of variety each day, with no two days being the same. I’m also afforded a level of trust that allows me some freedom to get the job done. At LPS, there is no micromanaging because management wants to see all employees excel at their particular job. From my experience, I believe that the upper management really takes the time to hire employees who will not only be able to do whatever they’re hired for, but also make sure each person fits into the company culture. Loader Parts Source is a company that embraces diversity and truly accepts everyone based on their abilities.

What did you do before LPS and what made you choose to switch to LPS?

Prior to being hired at Loader Parts Source, I worked for a family-owned company that manufactured cargo trailers. I learned a lot and met some wonderful people over the years; however, I was in upper management, and that wasn’t a position that I was comfortable with. At LPS, I go home at the end of the day or week, but unlike before I don’t bring work with me. I’m fortunate to be able to work with a great group of people who seem to enjoy their co-workers. When my previous cargo trailer company decided to close, the owner of Loader Parts Source happened to be at the auction and thought that I would be a good fit. A couple years later, I’m glad that someone saw potential in me, as I could see myself happily retiring from LPS.

What do you like to do in your free time? Any hobbies, activities, or sports?

In my free time, I like to run and kayak. Running allows me to be aware of my surroundings, gives me the exercise that I need after sitting at my desk, and notice things that I wouldn’t normally see while driving. Also, once I’ve run a certain distance, I still have to come back home, so quitting isn’t a choice. I also enjoy kayaking as it takes me into nature, so I always see something new. Weekends also afford me the opportunity to watch both my grandson and granddaughter play hockey.
