Since the early 1920s, Terex Corporation has been building and expanding its manufacturing capabilities one business at a time. While the global manufacturer is currently renowned for producing loaders and construction equipment for various purposes—such as energy, material handling, heavy-duty machinery, and aerial work utilities—this was not always the case. In truth, Terex only grew by the keen eye for growth and acquisition established by Chairman Randolph W. Lenz in the 1980s.

A former U.S. Marine and President of two previous companies, Lenz’s corporate interests shifted to heavy equipment manufacturing in 1981, when he began buying assets and acquiring bankrupt companies at liquidated prices. Following his success with building assets for FWD Corporation, the entrepreneur bought the rights to Terex Equipment—a subdivision specializing in heavy-duty wheel loaders, dump trucks, scrapers, and other large machinery—from General Motors between 1986 to 1987.
After accumulating many diverse construction manufacturers going out of business, Lenz eventually altered the company name to Terex Corporation in 1988, as its various products and solutions expanded to support many industries while offering better overall project performance in energy, emissions, and waste reduction.
For many years, the United States has come to rely on many different Terex products to support its construction endeavors. With renewed, growing interest in restoring highways and weathered roads, Terex loaders, graders, and mass transit products have increased in demand all across the country. Yet, its production hasn’t stopped at American borders; in truth, Terex Corporation’s quality applications have reached from India to Australia to Scotland for their ability to endure many kinds of difficult, rough environments.
It is no wonder why Terex is so popular. Dedicated to providing world-class products, innovative technology, and quality support to all customers, Terex Corporation has gained the reputation of a successful manufacturing organization that is as cost-effective as it is reliable.
Although Terex Corporation is segmented into two manufacturing divisions—Aerial Work Platforms and Materials Processing—one of its greatest strengths lies in its variety of compact construction site equipment. Compact trucks, excavation, skid, and backhoe loaders from Terex are not only quite quiet machines but also ensure faster results with little energy or repairs being needed in the process.
No matter the project or industry being serviced, customers can count on Terex loaders to provide supportive power, control, and performance quality needed to get the job done right.
