We would not be able to run as efficiently and smoothly if it weren’t for these team members and Samantha Zimmerman is no exception. We sat down with Samantha to discuss her role, hobbies, and what she looks forward to most in her career with Loader Parts Source.
What is Your Role at Loader Parts Source?
My job at Loader Parts is the Shop Secretary for the Director of Manufacturing; I am the direct assistant to the director. I do research for various projects in the department, handle all the paperwork that goes through the shop, and handle communication from other departments to ours.
What Do You Enjoy Most About Working for Loader Parts?
I appreciate the freedom I have to enjoy my life outside of work. I feel no extra pressure to give up my personal time here or to be expected to put my life on hold here, in fact, I feel the need and want to improve my quality of life outside of work because of my job. I have never had that kind of appreciation shown to me from a job before, even the job that I went to college for. Also, the respect I have from my superiors is unique and very important to me.
What did you do before LPS and what made you choose to switch to LPS?
Before LPS I was a waitress at a 24-hour restaurant and a graphic designer at a newspaper at the same time for most of five years. I was in the running for a graphic designer position at a bank when I accepted this position. When I got the call back 2 weeks later for the position at the bank, I turned it down. I chose to stay here at LPS because this job seems more like a future to me. I see growth here for myself professionally and personally, which is why I stayed.
What Are You Looking Forward to in Your Career with LPS?
In the coming months, I am looking forward to a few goals I have set for the shop, such as keeping builds in stock. Then spend valuable time researching the mountain of builds that we can do to broaden the shop. I also want to get to the point where we can, as the shop, focus on Research and Development builds and put out more products for our customers.
Outside of Work, What Do You Like to Do?
I am trying to be creative again in my free time by drawing and writing. I also enjoy playing video games, spending time with my boyfriend, and paying attention to my herd of cats as well.
